I've finished making cuts to the movie, and now comes the difficult task of putting it all together. For those interested, here's a list of changes I've made.

• Restored the retro 20th Century Fox opening, and Lucasfilm Limited title.

One of the toughest thing when fan editing any of the "Star Wars" films is tinkering with the sound. I've had to drop a few ideas due to the fact it was just too hard to manipulate. Quite possibly my very favorite Colin Baker story, this proved to be a fun one to edit. It took three days to create a movie-length cut, seamlessly reinstating the three deleted scenes featured amongst the extras on the official DVD, as well as using the CGI special effects. I took the plunge and decided to try and do something with "The Stolen Earth/Journey's End". I have not watched "Journey's End" since that monumental disappointment on first viewing it. Being able to cut out the (majority) of the bits I disliked certainly helped get through it. Here's what I trimmed from these two episodes:

I finished up my edit of the much-maligned Colin Baker adventure "Timelash", and it turned out pretty darn good (if I do say so myself). Just to show how much padding was clogging up this story, I cut over 30 minutes and it wasn't detrimental to the plot in any way, shape or form. I took the plunge a couple of weeks ago and started working on my very own fan edits. Many of the how-to-guides I found were so full of technical jargon that it zoomed right over my head.
